There are USB to Serial 'cables' now. Electronics in the connectors and USB powered.  I use one to connect from my PC to the PROII. Works like a champ... Here is one (of hundreds) for sale on eBay for under $5.00. http://tinyurl.com/5lysu6 73, Art  W6KY From:

Jim, I've used an IO Gear USB to serial adaptor for rig control with a Yaesu Mark V with good results in SSB contests. No CW, FSK but only rig interfacing. Don't know about the K3 specifically. If you plan to use it for CW and/or Rtty then I use a Microham Microkeyer for that. 73, Don VE3XD

[Dx4win] K3 via USB?

2008-11-21 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
My father just got a K3 that he'd like to hook up as a second radio. Unfortunately, his PC has no serial ports, just USB. I have never played with a K3 myself. What's the most straightforward way to get frequency control going? Thanks - Jim -- Jim Reisert AD1C/Ø, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://ww
