I was working on converting my father's log to DX4WIN8 format. I found
some strange frequencies in his log in the "Notes for this QSO" field:
80m:0/24KHz
15m:0/22KHz
15m:0/34KHz
The last one of the above "flavor" seems to have been made on 2007/03/05:
40m:0/6KHz

I'm planning to update the DX4WIN Awards database this weekend to fix
a few problems and add one new "award" (ILLW). See:
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/awards/index.htm#2.4
Is there anything that needs adding/fixing?
Thanks - Jim

Thanks for the info Larry/Jim,
Hopefully the recording of Frequencies is all under control. I just thought
since IMHO this is un necessary feature the option to turn it off would be
available.
Sounds like V8 is starting to settle down, well done.

Larry, the fix you describe was included in 8.02.
John can certainly download 8.02 and try it in demo mode to see if the
frequency problems go away for him.

What is your date search preference set to? Try setting it to a
range, and do one year at a time.
Remember, you should be searching on the QSO date, since all eQSL
dates are empty.

I want to upload to eQSL.
When I select Set Upload Flag, I'm asked if I want to upload 65,409 QSL's.
I don't. I only want to upload less than 10K at a time.
I activate an F8 filter and put 01/01/1901 into the eQSL upload date and see
65409 QSO's listed as expected.
When I try to limit this to a

You don't have to install in root. But there is absolutely no problem in
doing so. It is only installing one directory in root...

I've recently installed V 8.02 and have set up FT5AG to be a priority 1 spot

I'm running a K3 with the microKeyer II and have noticed that when a FT5AG

Thanks very much for your most interesting post Pete.
Indeed I had a bunch of devices including duplicates of the CyberPro PCI
4S 4 port serial board. Apparently I made an error when installing the
board.
One good thing is I found a second serial header on the motherboard.
However I still hav

They may be on your motherboard, with no access (cabling) to the bulkhead.

When I viewed the com ports it showed 1,2,3 then 8,9,10,11.
Ports 2 and 3 do not exist but apparently something was once assigned to
them.
DX4Win only goes to 8 so I changed the port number in DX4Win to 8 and it
started keying.
Since DX4Win only goes to 8, I changed the 8,9,10,11 to 5,6,7,8.

My 8.02 version shows FT5GA as Glorioso.

Hi John,
My guess is that DX4Win doesn't recognize that FT5GA is Glorioso. I had
to add a dummy QSO for FT5GA, otherwise DX4WIN thought it was France.

Just close up the columns you don't want... though I think you need

what they would like to hear.

They will show up in the control panel and the port number can be changed
there to any other unused number so you can probably with a little fiddling
around get them all in sequence without skips. i.e. COM1,2,3,4 in a row. If
you have ever done this sort of thing in W98 you will come to like XP re
I have a question: Is it possible to edit the data appearing in the DX SPOT
window, in the same way as the LOGBOOK window? As it stands it has too much
information, all I want is DX/Frequency/QSX/Time/Spotter.

I've always just plugged in one device at a time and tried ports until the
device starts working. Nothing has ever broken. Win XP is a ton better than 98.

My trusty old Windows 98SE computer was destroyed by lightning.
I have pressed into service a reliable Windows XP Pro computer.
Since it only has 1 serial port, I installed a CyberPro PCI 4S which
contains 4 serial ports, 2 on a PCI board and 2 more on a bracket that
plugs into the PCI card.
