DX4WIN works just fine with my Flex-6500 and DDUtil. I click onb a spot and
the radio, SteppIR, remote antenna switch go to the spot instantly, it’s a
beautiful thing to watch
My only issue is RTTY, if DX4WIN would let me force the mode to RTTY (or any
other mode) and not change it when
Hi John,
The tools to develop a new rig file are all part of DX4WIN; I have no
additional tools to do that.
Over the years, a number of users have created or helped develop new rig
files. The important difference is having access to the radio itself.

I certainly agree with you Bob. I put rig control right up there with
working with new OSs. I apologize if I was not completely up to speed with
why there are complaints with DX4WIN. I wasn't aware that Paul is not
updating for new rigs. I'm still using a Ten Tec Omni 6!

I too love DX4WIN..but if you do not have a RIG file that talks to your
radio
what do you do. I assure you NO RIG file and the enjoyment of working DX and
logging in real time is a real turn off.
So go out and buy a NON supported new rig and see how much you then enjoy your
logging program.
Just to add my two cents, I love this program. It does everything that I
want it to do. For my part I hope that it never goes away because I don't
need the excitement of learning new software to keep my interest in amateur
radio. I've been down the road of asking how this work or how that wor
My 2cents,
I have been a user of DX4Win for many years, too many to count. If there is
such a outcry for a new version or regular maintenance updates, then I suggest
that some of you that want this to happen is to pool your money, buy the source
code, start your own software company and conti
Hi Max,
You have a good point and "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"! Another good
program for the APRS folks is UI-View that must be at least 10 years old
after the author passed and no more updates. It is one of the most popular
programs and works fine - even with Windoze 10.

I think that’s not a bad idea if there is anyone on the list skilled in the
art to support this code like Log4OM or N1MM for the ? revenue it might
generate...

This eMail is from Paul 1 year ago, not 3 years ago..
For myself, DX4WIN exceeds my needs. Between DX4WIN,Clublog and AD1C there is
nothing about my 200,000++ QSOlog that I can't process.

Hello William,
Some months ago Paul collected some ideas from the reflector to include in the
update that should show up now or than.
I haven't seen substantial requests to modify the software and sincerely, from
my user experience standpoint, what I have is still the best I can find around.

Hi all
I have enjoyed DX4Win for MANY years, and I too would be willing to pay
for a heavy update.
What puzzles me (and many others I think) is Paul's silence on this
whole issue.
Over 3 years ago, Paul explained some of the reasons for the delay in
upgrading : fair enough. BUT he then said it
HI All,
Maybe, if Paul is not in position to update the program, we on this list
could buy access to the source code and arrange to move it forward as a
not for profit operation. The details could be tricky to work out but it
seems feasible if Paul is interested, and if we can make it good eno
If Paul is monitoring this list, please just be truthful with us regarding
the future of DX4Win. If Paul isn't going to move forward with this program
perhaps someone can figure out how to update the code and make it a more
modern logging program. Like the others on this list, I'd be willing to p
As a long time user I absolutely agree with the sentiments
expressed in this thread.
