Running Dx4win 8.05 under Windows 7 64-bit, I worked on trying to get CW
announcements to work long enough that I thought I was hallucinating. Then I
heard some snippets of faint CW. I turned off my FM radio, the shack got very
quiet, and it was not just ESP but CW at RST 219. I looked at the Dx

I am not sure the port driver was installed correctly. When I run
LPTDriver.exe, it suggests installing into the C:\dx4w803\drivers directory.

Could it be that the port driver was not installed? If that is the case,
look at the document setupdone.rtf in the docs sub-directory of
DX4WIN.

I tried 8.05 and it would not produced any CW announcements on my Win 7 64-bit
system. It acted the same as 7.07.
I did try 7.07 in the Win 7 Virtual Machine - XP Mode, and it would produce CW
announcements.
