To piggy-back off of Jim's great comments, I believe the NORFED Silver and
Gold-backed Liberty Dollars offer a great "physical" alternative to fiat
currency.
My choice is to use the Digital Gold Currencies in the cyber-arena and
Liberty Dollars in day-to-day cash exchanges when at all possible.

As I've been reading the discussions of HYIP's, at the one

Using 3 different images in parallel, each with 25 drop down choices
gives odds of 15,000. This might be the most user friendly -- except for
those that can't see too well. I am going to use a 1-time password for

hi jeff,
interesting idea -
my thoughts on an alternative to the turing number are that it needs
to provide around 1 out of 1 or higher odds against random guessing.
so a form with a drop down list would need to have 1 choices to provide
such. the 6 digit number e-gold uses provides arou

Okay, so I bit off more then I can chew :) My main idea was to have a
small image (cat, dog, sock, tree) and then people select what it is
from a pop up menu. That's user friendly, but you still have to
superimpose a few

hi SD,
the audible Turing number is a means for visually impaired e-gold
users to hear the 6 digits that others can see. it has audible
counterparts to the grid and placement distortion occurring in the
