This week, the fate of the headwaters forest was decided. 10,000 out of 60,000 acres
of ancient Redwood and Douglas Fir have been "saved" (put aside for now). If you want
to know more about the decision, check out the Headwaters Action website.

I totally agree and I don't think anyone has requested that ecofem
become women only. But it is interesting how tense and angry even
"enlightened" men become when the need for a space without men is
mentioned. "Don't lump me in with them!" they scream... "I'm enlightened
- you can't leave me out!"
No, Angela -- actually i am not into the "blame" language at all. I am
just pointing out that what is happening on this list is quite reflective
of what continually goes on "out there," namely the discussion has turned
inot one about those "male-bashing" "man-blaming" feminists. Yet another

this is completely ridiculous. I am not going to write quite as long as i

just say this analogy totally pretends there is no such thing as a

Hi Lori Anne,
Thanks for your reply. I would like to see the bashing regarding men on the
list end also - men should stay on the list and for those who have really have
a need to have a male/free zone -

This thought has come into my head over and over today: how blaming somebdy
or some other group and avoiding any personal blame or responsability is
giving away power.

It's right that people who want to save this planet from our collective
greed and ignorance should not fight or argue over much with other people

Thanks so much, several women have said that to me and I am glad to hear
it! We've got work to do, so much to organize against/for. Do we really
have the time to defend our selves? This whole argument really sharpens my
feelings about how distracted we can get when people begin the backlash.
