directly from Debian and I don't know if Debian is in much of a better

I am still having the same issue with Ubuntu 13.10, Gnome Desktop and
Dia 0.97.2. I have fixed it by editing the start script /usr/bin/dia to
have the LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 before the dia launch. /usr/bin/dia is
now as follows:

The problem seems to have gone away since I installed Linux Mint.

After starting Dia, one sees its window for about one second and then it

usable from there, as most functions are missing. Please fix this bug for the

The bug seems to originate from the Oxygen GTK engine and only appears
at the first run of Gimp, some initialization function I think
(user_install_dialog_new ff. in the stack trace).
