[Elecraft] New amp

2005-08-18 Thread David
Does anyone know what the power supply requirements are going to be for the elecraft amp when it is ready for sale? I have to replace mine now and figure I might as well buy one big enough to handle it as I plan to get one when it becomes available. ___

2005-08-18 Thread Coote, Jay
#1204 is up and running without too much difficulty, other than the builder making a "rosin joint" at one of the relays which was quickly resolved. I made a few contacts up to 1500 miles away on 10 and 14 MHz, using 1.5 watts (internal batteries) and a Barker & Williamson AC 1.8-30 broadband anten

I'm building a K1 to go with my K2 and KX1! The receiver is working and aligned, but I have a question about BFO alignment. I usually use a side tone pitch of 700 Hz, but I don't seem to be able to adjust the BFO trimmer c20 to get that high a note centred in the filter pass band. Am I aiming for t

I now have taken the advice offered to use Spectrogram - why didn't I think of that? D'oh!!! I can now see the filter pass band and move the peak around using c20, but I can't get the pass band centre anywhere near 700 Hz, perhaps only 450-500Hz. This seems a bit low. Not to take issue with Ron's comments... they are all appropriate, however one thing I think which may have been missed, or at least glossed over, is the fact the Astron supplies include a very good FOLDBACK CURRENT LIMITING circuit which, if directly shorted (e.g. HOT lead directly to GND) will
