Hi,
Ran into problem with L3 and T5 can't hit 6 volts at R30. Was
suggested that I try measuring voltages and I found on RF brd. U1 pin
1 @ 8 volts instead of 6 I'm not a tech so I'm not sure how to track
what might be causing this high voltage condition? Any ideas would be
greatly apprecited.

I'm a diehard Weller user and I agree - I think the Hakkos are a good
increment better - they've taken the basic functionality of the Weller
and refined it, the handpiece is smaller, etc., and they're used in
production work so they're good instruments. 73 de Alex NS6Y

It's a great soldering station. I've had one for several years. I especially

I've had the Hakko 936 for almost a year. I've built a QRP K2 with all

That is the one I got when I got my Elecraft kit just over one year

course we have several nice ones at work). Get a variety of tips for

Dave,
I use one (Hakko 936), I build a lot of Elecraft gear for other folks, I do
some personal SMD work, I do a bit of experimenting (usually Manhatten
style) - hardly a day goes by without it being turned on. It has served me
well through over 1 pound of solder in less than a year, it is comfor

He politely didn't argue with me.
Thanks for the report! I'll have to share your note with him .

Hi Larry,
That's even better, but cables get old and get water in them too.

Fred and Eric-
I went through this a few months ago and got excellent
advice from this reflector. TenTec sells a hand mic for $28 (the bias
resistor is built in so you don't have to add it to the back of the
front panel). I bought it and am using it and getting excellent audio

That's great Fred. It sure is nice to see the rig power up and do the
right things without producing smoke. When I first turned mine on I had
this "are you sure" feeling but I just did what the manual said and all
was fine.

For the small amount of SSB I operate I use the Kenwood MC-60

Hi Folks,
Hope this doesn't violate someone's netiquette rules.

A beautiful build job (my 5th K2). Works exactly as it should, getting
10-15 watts output on all bands. Beautiful keyed waveshape. This is the
basic QRP K2 with no options added. Includes all documentation, plugs, etc.

Werner and all,
It is obvious to me that microphones differ. I have looked at the info from
