Whoops, I just uncovered, from beneath a pile of wire wrapped circuitry, my notes. I had intended mentioning a few of them in my announcement but they were obscured by wire, parts, and a microcontroller. I'll get to the point: I was digging through my station logs looking for a date. The

If you have a computer printer, print a little strip that says <-NOTCH And tape it in the space on the socket that will be underneath the I.C. and between the pins so the arrow points to where the notch SHOULD be. Ron (Who me do that?) AC7AC -Original Message- Subject: RE: [Elecraft]

RE: [Elecraft] Help (Question) on building my KX-1

Larry, you are correct that it will make no difference as long as the IC is inserted correctly, but I strongly suggest that you manually notch the other end of the socket (melt the plastic with your soldering iron tip, cut it with a knife, etc.) or put some permanent marking on the socket or board

RE: [Elecraft] K2 power control

Joerg, You either have something wrong with the wattmeter in the KPA100 or have something wrong in the path from the wattmeter forward power circuit to the VRFDET output from the KPA100. During a quick keydown period (with only the base K2 powered or with the PA turned off in the menu), check the

I only have the KAF 2 filter, and have never heard the DSP, but I am very happy with the KAF 2. If anything, position 2 boosts the cw signal, and I don't find any ringing on the cw note. I never use the KAF2 on SSB . I consider the KAF well worth the money, especially since I got it used at
