[Elecraft] KPA100 and RFC6, etc

2007-01-29 Thread Jeff Kinzli
Hey guys, I'm working on KPA100, and at the step to install RFC6 and others. The board outlines and holes are for miniatures, but the only miniature I got was RFC9. Is it ok to bend the leads on the larger chokes to bend underneath the choke to make the holes? If I do this, the choke is about 0

I had a problem with low output on the high bands that I traced to a missing C150 (bottom board part) in the buffer amp before the XMIT mixer. Output was OK up to about the middle of 20m. Your symptoms sound different, but what I found is that a loss in one part of the distributed gain can be

[Elecraft] K1 VFO trouble

2007-01-29 Thread Scott Richardson
My K1 VFO has stopped tuning. The rig was (pretty much) fine till I replaced the tuning pot (plastic for metal), but the problem doesn't seem to be there. I measure approx 0 to 100 k resistance as far as pin 1 of RF-RP2, so the new pot appears to be doing its job. Voltage measured at D3 (5.9V) ch

That is odd, Ben. Any band-specific power change is usually associated with the bandpass filters for that band. Ten meters could be an exception because the K2 transmit chain has the lowest gain at that band, so if something is reducing your overall power output, it might only cause you to fail to
