The 2007 Summer 20 Meter Foxhunt Season is fast approaching!
And we are in need of QRPers to volunteer to for Foz duty!
This summer, the hunts will run on Thursday evenings beginning on July

Hello:
Just in the final stages of fine tuning up my new KX1. Some where I seem to
remember a table of power outputs vs current draw for this rig. Didn't find
specific values in the manual.
Can some one point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

Frank,
You should be able to repair it yourself. Use wire to repair the
damaged traces - #30 wire-wrap wire works great for that purpose, but
you can use whatever your have in a small gauge wire - if there is
danger that the wire may contact other parts of the circuits, use
insulated wire.
Our redesigned MH2 hand mic is now shipping. It has the same
high-quality electret element, same sound, and same dimensions as the
original, but with more rugged internal construction. The MH2 is the
perfect match for both the K3 and K2 transceivers.
You can see it at:

The ground hardware is part of the KAT2, but the silk-screening is on the
base top cover.
Your ground needs depend on your antenna installation. I need to go to the
hardware store anyhow. See you there!

Mike,
Check all the changes that you made during the KXB3080 installation.
Especially check T2 and the LPF to be certain the toroids are installed
exactly like the photos in the manual. It is important to have flush
trimmed the leads on the LPF board relay so they do not contact (and
scrape)
Peter,
A directional coupler similar to the Elecraft CP1 is used in many
wattmeter applications, and should not create any unusual impedance
discontinuity.
You can in fact use an RF probe (or 'scope) at the FWD and the REV
terminals of the CP1 to measure the RF voltage and calculate the powe
I thought I was nearing completion of my KX1, but I seem to have a problem now.
Upon completion of the basic KX1, all tests were completed as expected.
Current & resistance tests were right on and I was able to peak the 20m & 40m
trimmers as directed in the manual. I'm using an XG2 signal gene

Hi Frank ...
Welcome to the low bands! I'd like to encourage you to try 30 meters.
It has several advantages over other bands: Since contest activity is not
allowed you will not be up against many multi-element beams and KW+
competitors. 100W with a dipole will give you an average or better si
Hi Frank,
I'd consider 80M, particularly between 3550 and 3560.
There are several groups that inhabit this area:
FISTS, NAQCC and QRPers. There's usually a couple QSOs
going on and you can find new CW ops as well as
oldtimers to build your confidence and speed.
40M is also popular (7025 to 7060),
I'm offering up my QRP K2 for sale to readers of this list. A somewhat
difficult decision after all the enjoyment it has given me, both during
build and operation. But I now have a K1 for QRP, an IC-7000 for QRO and
need to start building up the coffers for a K3 near the end of the year.

Hi David,
I use 50 to 100K resistors on my verticals for static

Hopefully, any lightning will find an easier path to
ground than thru my rig!

Eduardo,
Do you have any voltage at the emitter of Q11? Is that voltage getting

Check U6 pin 5 - it could be bent under the chip or on the outside of
the socket.
If the voltage at Q11 emitter is zero, then check the different
