Hello Everyone,
Like Ken, I too am puzzled over the insufficient-audio issue with the K2.
FWIW both of my K2s (one with a QRP lid, the second with the KPA100 lid)

I typically run both rigs with the RF Gain fully CW and the Audio Gain
I am new user of K2. Pretty recent serial number. 100 w version. I also
find the radio has not enough audio gain. It is OK when I operate from my
city shack but when I am in the country where level of QRM is really low
then there are stations on 10 and 15 meters that are definitely copiable but

Sorry:
Nonsense. The ability to talk via ham radio overseas, Norway. etc., is
indeed unique when you can consider that no hardware corporate, nor
any other, infrastructure is necessary to achieve the task. Shut down
the cell-phone infrastructure and/or the Internet and communications
fngercots are standard issue on a production floor. For hobby building i
doubt it would be nessecery or even ecenomical, a good grounding strap and
antistatic pad to work on is a better investment.

I certainly agree with Jozef. There is something called tradition. We are

While I can't speak from any knowledge of the Rhino brand, considering

Mine, too.
Will the guy who ordered his K3 assembled, please stand up?

A long time ago someone posted this tool as a great way to strip enamel from

I have searched high and low for a retailer but can't find one. Apparently
Knipex does not sell direct.
Does any one know where to purchase?

Search for Part No. 1511 at the home page http://chadstoolbox.com/.
However, these seem to require a blade that matches the wire diameter,
and the blades are only in metric wire sizes, so before purchasing, I
would check the wire diameter you plan to use

For what it is worth, the lone term ham should be used carefully in my
opinion. It is also used in theater and other efforts of endeavor, and
in some cases, it is not always viewed in a positive light.
I am always careful to use the words Ham Radio together except in
cases where I

It's with radios like cars.
An old vauxhall will get you from A to B , but wouldn't it be nice to have
some fun getting there?
It's seldom about needs , it's more what you can afford and want to do.
If it was only the A to B needs I still would have my old tentec triton 1.
So the question why
Hi Hank,
No, of course not. It means that, for whatever reason, you don't want to
assemble it. No other meaning was intended. I was surprised that so many
chose to assemble theirs.

The First Day of Issue ceremony was nice. Some nice lighthouse related
items were available. We also recommend the Maritime Museum in Westport,
Washington. The original Fresnel lens from the Destruction Island
Lighthouse is on display there. Very impressive.

My first post on the reflector was labeled Guidance. I was most
impressed with all the responses..a lot of food for thought and
very helpful. My thanks to all of you for your time, interest in helping
others and support. It says a lot about the hobby. Thanks again.
