Hi All,
I've made some improvements to ProCat Cool. The new version 5.5
is for K3 only and provides more flexibility for band stacking
and S-Meter support. Version 5.1 and 5.2 remain for K2 support.

It is possible to link two K3s together through the serial ports and
synchronize their tuning using N8LP's LP-Bridge, a free program
available from his telepostinc.com website.
I now have both my K3s lock-tuned together for rx diversity
experiments. After setting the second K3's baud rate to 4

Many thanks for the new features included with the software/firmware

Thanks Doug. The fact that a guy of Dick's quality was working for Ten

Ive noticed several posts regarding birdies at various frequencies
in the K3. I've noticed some birdies too. But, I think I've found
the solution, at least in my case, to eliminate them. Try this,
config: VCO MD RF CAL. This is the normal calibration step
during the build.
Just in case you missed it, recent K3 firmware releases allow you to
use SPLIT even in diversity mode.
When in diversity mode, VFO A controls both receivers. VFO B remains
independent, so it can be used as a frequency holding register (tap A/B
to exchange it with VFO A), or for SPLIT.

I have just completed the control board for my K2. All of the resistance
checks were correct except for U6 pins 29 and 30. The specifications call
for a resistance to ground of 70-90K Ohms. Both of mine measured 96K. Is
that far enough out of spec to worry about?
This kit is great fun to build

Joe,
The setup is about the same as for any amplifier - coax from the K3 to
the amp's RF input, K3 KEYOUT to the amp's PTT IN (or relay control or
whatever it is labeled). Set the K3 CONFIG:TX DLY parameter to be at
least as long as it takes for the amp to switch from standby to transmit.

Benson,
It all depends on your personal point of reference.
If you are ordering the kit, the QRP version will not take quite as long
to build as the 100 watt version. Then when you get the KPA3 later, you
will have to invest an extra 2 to 3 hours. There are very few pieces of

Hi Rich:
Similarly, I (originally) tried keying my rig (at that time, a TS-930S) via

I experienced the same report(s) and was actually able to see the choppiness
