I seem to have lost the ability of the K3 to recognise what filters it has.
My sub receiver has a 2.8 and 1.0 but when I go into B Set and press the
XFIL button it only registers one filter, a 2.7 which I don't have.
Following my recent upgrading of firmware and the K3 Utility I lost a lot

You might need to do this again:

Despite my eariier email regarding the K3 Utility issues, all is not well
after all.
I now have the dreaded tuning noise (loud) on 6m. It wasn't there this
morning when I was operating on 6m before I did the K3 Utility and firmware
upgrades.
Again I have regressed to the previous firmware
I'm really surprised at this result.
The K3 Utility finds the radio at its set speed. If you load firmware, the
speed is changed to 38,400 bps for the firmware load, and then restored to
the speed you had set before the firmware load.
There are some circumstances where the K3 Utility cannot rest
I just downloaded the latest K3 Utility and Beta Firmware. Although the

At first I thought the problem was related to the new firmware but after
reloading an older version with the same result, I guessed,

I'm enjoying listening to an AM roundtable on 3885 tonight. With syncAM I
don't miss a single word! I leave the CWT on and the K3 automatically
corrects frequency as each OP takes his turn. Thanks Elecraft!
Can you explain the blinking S? I assume it blinks until the PLL locks with
the carrier.
After more listening tonight (this is WWV on 10 MHz), the problem
papers to be an unacceptable level of FM! At times WWV is as easy
to copy using the K3's FM detector as it is with either of the AM
detectors.

Hi,
The weather announcements on WWV have terrible audio quality, period. Has
nothing to do with the K3, nor the new SAM detector. I find SAM to work
great (except the locking range is extremely small) unless I engage the
"tracking" feature. When engaged, the display frequency starts hunting and

I've noticed the same sub-mode change in data modes but had
not tracked it down to the subreceiver (I thought I had a
bad macro in my logging software). However, now that Bud
has posted this, I can confirm the (bad) behavior as due to

It's possible that there is some intermodulation between the
timecode and the voice. What I'm hearing in Sync-AM sounds
like clipping or crossover distortion that does not seem to be
present on any other AM signal.

I've always used FSK D mode.
Since updating to 3.57 when I turn on the Sub Receiver the radio goes into AFSK

How do I stop the SUB from changing FSK D to AFSK A?
In the past the radio was always in FSK D and the SUB did not change this.
I'm in VFO A and check DATA MD. It says FSK D.

The last I knew -all- voice announcements ... with the
exception those for the normal time are via dial-up

worse on WWVH, perhaps due to the satellite path

When a moderately strong signal is in the passband and you make a step
change, there is a click. AM signals are usually pretty strong, so the
clicks are more pronounced.

Yes, I've noticed that also. But, I've always had some clicks when
