I think it would be easily resolved if K3 firmware is changed so that
Inh
signal disables PTT in at the same time.
Many K3s are used with external sequencers which depend on the PTT/Inh
logic remaining exactly as it is now.
A far better place for specialized lockout logic is in a box between
Ian,
I agree with your note. Having said that there might be a possibility of yet
another menu setting that would allow different PTT/Inh interaction.
Only designers know what can be easily implemented and what cannot. Separate

Val, thank you.
I know about lockout box from ACOM. But I am after light and easy portable
solution.

Igor,
As a current Canadian Avionics E licenced mechanic with over 30 years
experience, including quite a bit of HF, I can tell you that there are
many makes and models of HF gear, including Collins, Bendix/King,
Sunaire,... that could be directly channelled from the cockpit. All HF

Every day I see Don helping other Elecraft hams. He is a blessing for many.
Just received my KX3 and I asked him about connecting my EV RE27 mike to it
instead of the hand mike. Don set about constructing a small case with a 6
FT cord that goes to the KX3 and on the other side is a male mike
Years ago, Don transformed my ebay bargain K2 (SN 567) into the
dynamite little rig it still is today. It's still my primary rig.
Thanks, Don.

Don is a gem... and we are all lucky to benefit from his experience,
knowledge, and expertise. Particularly when it comes to advice and
his willingness to do repair work on Elecraft gear on our behalf,
should any of us lack his talents and resources.
Bravo, Don! Hip, hip.

I would also like to add my thanks. Don made the difference on both of my
Elecraft projects, a KX1 and a K2/10. His experience guided me through a
problem on my K2 and helped me fix it. He also did a great job aligning my
K2. I always get good audio from my signal reports.
73's and thanks
Everything that was said about Don and then some.

Don provided a wonderful service for my KX1. But his guidance and support has
been more than wonderful. He gave pages on guidance over many emails on
everything from soldering to antennas. What a wonderful Elmer. He always

If you are thinking of an enclosure/container/bag to transport the KX3 in a

them in either shoulder harness or backpack varieties.
That having been said, if you are transporting the KX3 in a backpack along

Good day;
I have a kit of major components that will add a panoramic
display to your Elecraft K3 radio; -It consists of the following:
- LP-Pan SDR that receives the K3's IF (8.215 Mhz?) signal
- Clifton Labs RF preamp that amplifies the K3's IF signal
- E-MU-0202 USB sound card
- Stereo
The docs are on the web site.

Matt;
OK, and thanks for this info. I had not looked; -I am not an owner of a
K3; I simply LOANED my LP-Pan to a K3 owner for verification that it worked.
I believe I had miss-copied the links, so I will offer again:

That looks pretty good. Can you get a picture of everything outside of the
case? What computer and solar panel/charger are you using?

Good Day All,
I am having a hard time trouble shooting a noise issue when opening the K3
utility or HRD.
When ever either of these programs is opened I have a portion of 20m that
becomes unusable due to a high noise floor, other parts of 20m increase by 1
