I use my KX3 almost exclusively for SOTA. I keep inadvertently managing
to get the display to switch from SWR/RF to CMP/ALC and can't find a
quick way to switch it back. This occurs not just when adjusting Mic
gain or CMP, although I do switch power levels sometimes. Initially I
thought
Tapping PWR (the KEYER/MIC knob) toggles between the displays for me in SSB,
AM or FM modes.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your response and, yes, this information is on page 15 of the
C2 manual as well. However, this tells you how the CMP/ALC display mode
gets activated. The problem I'm having is switching it back to SWR/RF.
You should be able to do this by tapping the Keyer/Mic knob and
Gary,
Early KX3s had nuts on the encoder shafts which made the switch action
intermittent at times because the nuts interfered with full travel when
the knob was tapped.
So check for nuts on your encoder shafts - if present, remove them -
they are not needed.

Hi,
I'm in Randolph, NJ (Morris Co) and wonder if there are any KX3 owners who

This is my second K2 that I have built (this one only 1/2 way) it pains me
greatly to put it up for salebutwe have moved into a condo from our

No idea where to get those replacements.
What I did with my earpads is cover the pads with the soft protection
clothing that Heill provides for their earpads. Not a 100% fit but 98%
is just fine.

73,
Another mono/stereo speaker comment and question. Fred KE7X covers this topic
well in his reference, as does Elecraft in their Owner's manual...to some
extent.
Above noted earlier I have a Radio Shack P/N 274-0374 1/8 Mono Jack to
1/8 Stereo Plug Adapter stuck in the back of my K3. It feeds the
Gary,
It seems that that is one adapter that 'does it right'. Many do not and
connect the ring of the stereo plug to the sleeve when a mono jack is
inserted, thus grounding the right channel. That is typical of the 1/8
inch to 1/4 inch adapters.
