Your K2 was tested with an Elecraft MH2 microphone which needs bias
voltage. That Kenwood microphone is a dynamic type which should not
have the bias voltage applied.
Remove the left side panel and lift the end of the resistor soldered to
pin 1 of the microphone jack.

Some commands can take longer to execute that others. RX, for example, kicks
off a process that may not be done by the time the first SWH13 is handled. You
could probably substitute a small string of semicolons instead, with each one
introducing a millisecond or two of delay.
