At the moment, CW works as expected, EXCEPT when I use the footswitch. When use

Come on. This is a great little radio. But it’s designed to be s great “little”

If you’re looking for a full fledged base station with all the options, get a

This should do it. Actually, once the temp comp procedure has been completed,
you’ll have the equivalent of a very expensive TCXO (about +/- 0.2 PPM).

Thanks Wayne, I'll try doing the extended VFO temp comp procedure. Sounds like
that will get me close enough.

Until K9YC's post I was not aware of the Array Solutions lightning

Not just mode but mode and each data mode too.

I cannot find a way to have the K3S remember the power setting per mode.
When switching from Digital modes to CW and having to set the power level
each time is a pain. It would certainly be a welcome feature at this QTH if
the K3S remember the last power setting for each mode as well as each band.
Hi Dave,
The synthesizer used in the KX3 doesn’t have means for locking to an external
reference. However, if you do the extended VFO temperature compensation, then
calibrate the reference to WWV (etc.), you’ll typically be within +/- 1 or 2 Hz
of your actual target frequency on all bands, over
Nominal drive power is 50 watts in for 1500 watts out. As with virtually all
other amplifiers, drive power requirements can vary from band to band.

I bought a couple of these (TT3G50) from DX Engineering. Unscrewed the gas
discharge plug, took a look and some photos of the inside construction, and sent
them back. Simply awful, (Alpha-Delta, not DX Engineering) BTW, the only

Also I am interesting in comments about the driving power thru bands.

Straightforward answer:
Use a simple mixer with L/R audio gain controls.

Good to see the first reviews!
Can someone comment on the drive requirements?
The FCC document lists a worst case of between 75 and 80W input for 1500W
output on some bands. This might be close to the limit of some exciters in
RTTY. However, this is still less than the PowerGenius XL which seem
