[Elecraft] Trouble configuring a K3, MicroHAM Microkeyer 2 and N1MM+

2018-01-22 Thread Eric Rosenberg
I've been having issues getting my MK2 work with a new-to-me K3 and N1MM+ At the moment, CW works as expected, EXCEPT when I use the footswitch. When use it, the PTT1 light stays lit and the radio goes into transmit and won't get out of it -- you have to turn off the rig. The PTT! light stays

A great little radio it is, agreed. I have two of them that I use as I.F. radios on my 10 & 24GHz portable microwave station setups. They are perfect for that function, using the 2m option as the I.F. especially when mated with a PX3. I drag my microwave gear all over the place, including

Come on. This is a great little radio. But it’s designed to be s great “little” portable radio. How many will carry a 10 MHz ref oscillator to a mountain top. If you’re looking for a full fledged base station with all the options, get a K3S. Sent from my iPhone ...nr4c. bill > On Jan 21,

This should do it. Actually, once the temp comp procedure has been completed, you’ll have the equivalent of a very expensive TCXO (about +/- 0.2 PPM). Wayne N6KR > On Jan 22, 2018, at 4:59 PM, Dave AD6A wrote: > > Thanks Wayne, I'll try doing the extended VFO temp comp

Thanks Wayne, I'll try doing the extended VFO temp comp procedure. Sounds like that will get me close enough. Cheers, Dave AD6A Sent from my  iPhone 7 Plus On Jan 22, 2018, at 8:04 AM, Wayne Burdick wrote: Hi Dave, The synthesizer used in the KX3 doesn’t have means for

In my experience, they fail shorted, so it's pretty obvious.   Although the app notes for both the ICE and Array Solutions products say that they don't always fail shorted. The design is based on this one, which Array Solutions used to sell, but the ICE owner died several years ago. The

Not just mode but mode and each data mode too. So would somehow automatically adjust the KPA500 base fan setting to be mode dependent (mode from K3). The various K3 data modes would most need to allow separate values. I do a lot of mode switching and like to keep the KPA500 base fan setting

[Elecraft] New Feature for K3S

2018-01-22 Thread marvwheeler
I cannot find a way to have the K3S remember the power setting per mode. When switching from Digital modes to CW and having to set the power level each time is a pain. It would certainly be a welcome feature at this QTH if the K3S remember the last power setting for each mode as well as each band.

Hi Dave, The synthesizer used in the KX3 doesn’t have means for locking to an external reference. However, if you do the extended VFO temperature compensation, then calibrate the reference to WWV (etc.), you’ll typically be within +/- 1 or 2 Hz of your actual target frequency on all bands,

Nominal drive power is 50 watts in for 1500 watts out. As with virtually all other amplifiers, drive power requirements can vary from band to band. 73, Wayne N6KR > On Jan 22, 2018, at 3:48 AM, Petr, OK1RP/M0SIS wrote: > > Just FYI, > >

I bought a couple of these (TT3G50) from DX Engineering.  Unscrewed the gas discharge plug, took a look and some photos of the inside construction, and sent them back.  Simply awful, (Alpha-Delta, not DX Engineering)   BTW, the only "protection" is a 1000V breakdown gas discharge tube with

Good to see the first reviews! Can someone comment on the drive requirements? The FCC document lists a worst case of between 75 and 80W input for 1500W output on some bands. This might be close to the limit of some exciters in RTTY. However, this is still less than the PowerGenius XL which
