If I wasn't the first, I was the second, person to recommend the CM-500.  I've used them on both my original K3 and a new K3S.  IIRC I've gone through three of them; buying new ones when the pads wear out.  I have never had RFI issues with them (or anything else for that matter).  The only ferri

Good Evening,    A few months ago I cleaned out my weight room and added a workbench.  I use it to rebuild my computers.  I moved one of the servers in too.  That keeps the room and the weights warm.  I no longer have to wear gloves to lift in the winter.  Now, to get the other two servers in

Interesting. I tried a ferrite and, although it reduced the problem, it didn't cure it. I'm not sure it was a #31 mix, though, and I didn't wrap that many turns. Will try again. Sure wish toroids were labeled! Thanks, /Rick N6XI On Sun, Nov 21, 2021 at 5:55 PM David Herring wrote: > I also had

I also had RF problems with the CM-500 plugged into the rear mic jack. The solution I’ve implemented so far was to wrap about 13 turns of the CM-500’s cord around a #31 toroid. It both shortened the cord which was way too long for my shack and eliminated the RF problem. A two-for-one solution.

Hi, Pete. Try a dynamic mic or use the front panel (ugh) mic connector. I've had RFI problems at high power using a CM-500 on the rear panel mic jack. Elecraft are working on a fix. My Heil headset with dynamic mic works fine. 73, /Rick N6XI On Sun, Nov 21, 2021 at 5:32 PM Pete Smith N4ZR wrote

I don't normally operate phone, but wanted to contribute a few QSOs to my club in SS SSB.  So I recorded messages on my external USB sound card, using Audacity.  They sounded fine, both on a speaker and on my K3's monitor.  So then I plugged my Yamaha CM-500 condenser mike headset into the rear

I have recently acquired a K-Pod and have a question. Before someone flames me with the RTFM, I have read the K3s manual, the K-Pod manual and the Cady manual (which is awesome). I find mention of the use of the K-Pod for CW, but I would also like to use it as an easier way to activate a record
