Mike (K8CN) and others - thanks for your inputs. I'm talking to Paul at
Elecraft Tech Support who, by the way, is being most helpful.
He reckons I have a problem with the Low Power Amplifier which takes a few
seconds to come up to full output power. I'm not at all sure how that
affects the SWR mea
When using the tuner only (amp on standby), ATU tune works fine, but
observing the PWR it ramps up slowly from 0 watts. For example K3 set
to 100 watts, amp on standby, press ATU tune and it takes about 15
seconds for the amp PWR indicator to reach 100 watts. Is this normal?

Hi,
Apparently Elecraft have published a mod which adds protection diodes to

I don't know anything about the KPA-1500, but I have seen similar power
ramping if I have K3/config/TX DLY set too short for my AL-1500 amps.
With that amp, I have to set TX DLY to 14 msec. What happens is that
the K3 sees a momentary high swr before the amp relay closes, and
throttles back p
Dave, changed the K3 Tx Delay from normal setting of 8ms to 14ms and
K3 puts out full power as soon as amp tuner completes. I'm using a
non-resonant antenna on 60m, so just wanted to use the tuner in the
amp.Thanks for the tip.Bill K4MWB

I don't know if this is useful, but I have noticed that my KXPA100 with
ATU takes a few seconds to ramp up, or at least to light all the LED's
up to 100W. This happens only on the first transmit after sitting
awhile and I just assumed that it takes a few seconds for the coils,
etc. to warm up.
I am offering for sale my factory built Elecraft K3S-F and my P3-F.
These units were purchased new by me and used exclusively in my temperature
controlled, pet and smoke free ham shack. Both units have seen very little
use, especially the last three plus years as I have spent virtually all of

Thanks to all that responded to my offer for sale but these units have
already been sold.

Looking for the simplest way to remote an SDR to the other end of the lot
to use as a local receiver. I live in an apartment and that is no place to
put a receiver. I have a constant S9 noise level on most bands. I am
thinking of hanging my SDR in my garage half a block away where there is

Good Evening,
Snow and rain alternated this week. One day snow line would be
