Hi All,
Just received a K4D from a friend. I have it connected and just getting used
to the radio.
We operate ESSB (4 kHz LSB) on the lower end of 80 meters where there is
ample room without causing interference. When you rag chew for several hours
it is much more pleasing to listen to.
Hi Wes,
Yes that is what the K3 does with the external ref using it to measure
the internal ref freq and use a software loop to steer.
I saw this adjusting one a previous practice for the FMT and asked
Elecraft.

Josep,
The K3 has a QRQ mode which provides faster QSK and improves the timing
of CW over about 33 wpm. But when the K3 has to shift frequency between
TX and RX (that is, when RIT/XIT or SPLIT is on, this is automatically
turned off.
What you may be noticing is not exactly a change in speed,
Howdy.!
I have noted that when I switch the RIT/XIT or Split on, the CW speed is
reduced, why that.? Any tip to fix this.? I don’t know if I have something
wrong in the CONFIG or what could be the cause.. Any ideas.?
Thanks,

Josep
