I’ll second/third/fourth/etc. the thoughts on a KXn that favors linear
satellite operations! I’d grab one in a heartbeat! Plus, three of a kind
beats a pair, so I’d have a much better Elecraft poker hand.

Rich,
I happen to like the Lowe Pro small case (CS40) that they offer from Elecraft.
I do quite a bit of SOTA and travel with my KX2, and I’ve found that it does
very well. It holds a power cord, USB cord, extra KX2 internal battery,
paddle, microphone, and an extra antenna adapter (and th
Hi everyone,
I've wrestled with this too. My 9 year old son really enjoyed learning how to
send his name perfectly in CW while being graded by the KX2's decoder. He
wouldn't stop until he got it perfect - no spaces or anything! But my 11 year
old gave up sorta quickly. I drag them on SOTA a
Tony,
I own both. For portable ops I'd go with the KX2 hands down. Smaller and
better battery life on the internal battery. My KX2 has been to SOTA
summits in Japan, Singapore, California, Texas, and Virginia, so it travels
great and takes up very little room in the small camera case that you c
Hi everyone,
Two questions:
1. I've got a brand new KX3, and I'm having a bit of trouble with the "Read
All from Xcvr" option in the Elecraft Frequency Memory Editor hanging up.
With a good connection from my Win 10 laptop via USB to my KX3, here's where
it hangs:

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if there are recommendations out there for a case for the
KXPA100? I'm thinking along the lines of a Pelican case, but something
soft-sided could possibly work too. Waffling back & forth between a case
that just carries the amp & cables or a case that carries amp,
Thanks, Chuck. I took mine apart and it looks like the cause is the small
plastic donut (with foam wrapped around it) that surrounds the wire between
the circuit board and mic. I think it had enough room to wiggle around.
Once reassembled, the rattling went away, as I suspect the wire arrangement
Good morning everyone,
I've got a new MH3 that hasn't ever been dropped. When I *gently* shake it,
I hear something rattling around in it.like a spring of some sort. Is that
normal? If I "roll" it in all different directions, I don't hear anything
rolling around on the inside, so there's not
Good evening everyone!
Just wondering if anyone has experience working linear (or FM for that
matter) satellites with a KX3 and the 2M transverter installed? I see it's
limited to 2.5-3W of output, and after reading the manuals, I believe it'll
work SSB for the linear satellites.
My conc
Good afternoon everyone,
I have a Bioenno Power solar charge controller (SC-1220JU), and I'm
wondering if there would be any issues with charging the KX2's internal
battery with that charge controller. Thanks for the help!

Mike,
I've flown with the Bioenno Power 12Ah LiFePO4 batteries several times,
carrying two at a time in my carry-on baggage. I've flown mostly in and out
of Japan (Narita and Naha, Okinawa) with them. I usually end up having to
pull the batteries out so that I can show them that they're under th
