Re: [Elecraft] K3 IF Attenuation?

2014-11-01 Thread Dave C
I should have mentioned that the K3's receive level is normal. Preamp is off and attenuator is off. S-meter levels on the K3 receiver are normal. The problem I'm seeing is only in the IF connection. Dave K8JDC On Sat, Nov 1, 2014 at 10:30 AM, Dave C wrote: > I've been usin

[Elecraft] K3 IF Attenuation?

2014-11-01 Thread Dave C
I've been using an AFEDRI SDR as a panadapter for my K3 for about a year now using HDSDR. I use it every day but when I powered things up yesterday, the panadapter connection has suddenly experienced a lot of attenuation. I don't know at this point if the issue is in the K3 IF output or the AFEDR

[Elecraft] KX3/KXPA100 Output Power Cal

2014-07-06 Thread Dave C
I ran a quick test on my KX3/KXPA100 output using the output power calibration and the results don't really make sense to me. This was on 40m into a dummy load: Using the KXPA100's cal number (ALC A2.5), the max output was 90 watts with the KX3 set to 110W output. The 90W measurement was from th

[Elecraft] AFEDRI SDR for K3 Panadapter

2013-07-02 Thread Dave C
Hi all, I've been considering getting an AFEDRI SDR to use as both a panadapter for the K3 and also to use as a general-purpose utility receiver. It's in the vicinity of $250-$300, has both Ethernet and USB connections, and can handle 1.25 MHz of bandwidth on the Ethernet connection or 384 K

Re: [Elecraft] MARS

Yes it can. There is an area around the 8.2 MHz IF where it can't transmit and another range slightly further away from the IF where it is limited to 10W transmit. Dave K8JDC Can the K3 operate in the M.A.R.S. spectrum? I am sure it can't but one of the team on the expedition may want to buy o

One last follow-up. I tried 12VDC on my speakers and I was blowing 5A fuses. I checked with one of the guys who wrote me off-list and he double-checked his speakers and found they were running on 9VDC. I tried 9VDC and that is working fine. Just thought I should correct the earlier info I poste

I got a couple of responses off-list saying they can be run off 12VDC so that's good enough. Wanted to let folks know that my question was answered. Thanks... Dave K8JDC __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/list

[Elecraft] West Mountain COMSPKR Question

2012-09-09 Thread Dave C
Hi all, I know some folks on here are using the COMSPKRs with Elecrafts so I thought I would ask a quick question. I picked up a pair at a hamfest today to try with my K3 but I must have been half-asleep because I didn't catch that the power supply was not included. I need to know what input

[Elecraft] Question on K3 Xmit and 8 MHz IF

2012-08-22 Thread Dave C
I have a Softrock receiver connected to my K3's KXV3 IF output and have been using PowerSDR to provide a second receiver/panadapter. I also played around with recording QSOs using PowerSDR but I have noticed that the transmit audio recorded in this manner is slightly off frequency. So, the receiv
