My first HF antenna was an inverted V up aboutt 30 ft at feed point. It was cut
for 20 meters, but worked on 15 and 4o also. 73 de Dave KJ6CBS

I am not a contester, but do have a computer hook up to my K3 for logging my
contacts with less typing since MacLoggerDX takes the freq and mode and
upper/lower sideband from the rig. I could use the computer for rig control,
but I like to spin the knob so usually don't use rig control. 73 de

floor condo in a 5 story brick building. Considering a magnetic loop on my
balcony to get back up on HF.

I started with (and still am using) a K3/10 (gets to 12 watts out) and have
found it a lot of fun doing DX. Once I get to my new QTH in a condo in Chicago
and figure out what I can do as far as an antenna, I will put my K3/10 back on
the air. So that is a possible rig for a new ham.

I am moving to a condo on the 2nd floor of a brick and concrete building. The
condo rules do not allow anything to extend over the balcony railings.
However, they do allow flag pole to be clamped to the railing of the balcony.
I have considered an mfj 1622 antenna inside of a pvc pipe as my
