If anyone has extras of the above or parts radios I might be interested.
Thanks

If you can not find the post in the archives - let me know and I can try to dig

Of course I did heat up other things so - I can not prove it but that tab was
very very poorly soldered and the more likely issue.

Thanks for all the good advice so far - once I am back with the radio
I will dig into it a bit more.

This is an early K3 - it does have some K3S upgrades.

Are there any common failures to look for or test?
I was going to open the radio up this week and see if anything
was obvious.
Thanks

They are small and inexpensive.
I replaced it last night and the receiver is working.
Thanks for the troubleshooting tips.

There is nothing wrong with Heil micophones. I used them for many years. What
I did not like were the headphones so I would mount the HC-4 and HC-5 booms off
of the broken headphones onto headphones that I liked to wear and listen to.
Over the years I tried many different ones. AKG-K240, Son

to find out?
I do notice that if I touch some areas on the bottom board the signal

I turned on the K3 this morning and it is very deaf. hooking up and XG-3 to it
shows it to be very deaf on ant 1 and ant 2. It seems to hear ok or maybe even
normally on the RX any port.
Is that enough to make guesses as to what has failed?
