All: Recently I submitted an issue on the above item. Since then I have put 6
turns of the USB cable on a 1.0 in id 31 toroid and it reduced it. I then put 5
turns on the USB cable going to the multi jack USB adapter and that cleared up
the problem. Make sure that you use 31 mix as othes did
All: Recently I sent my k3 into get the sound card and second rcvr put in.
Upon receipt of the unit I plugged it back into the same connectors I had
previously used with the exception of the NEW USB cable connection to the
CPU/K3/P3. I now have tremendous RF in the shack which was not there
Hi Gang:
Looking for some info. From the PDF and pictures it looks like this
amp will NOT do SO2R. Is that correct?

I have a question?
I have a K-3/P-3 with a Expert 1.3 k amp. Due to the low swr cut off point
of the Expert amp (1.7) and the high swr of my antenna (2.3) I am looking
for a Antenna Tuner. I have selected a Palstar HF Auto. My question is what
will the Expert amp do when the tuner is tuning.
Ok all you great guys.
I have a K3 which is hooked to my P3 thru the K3 RS-232 port which is
normal and then from the P-3 to the CPU for logging. I now have a MicroHAM
Interface III which also wants that RS-232 port. Will a RS 232 Y cable
work? That is the first question. The second one
Hello all:
I have a K3/P3 and want to do RTTY, JT, PSK. I know that there is a
section, Page 31, in the manual that address this area. I do not wish to
use the sound card in my PC as I listen to back ground music while on the
air. No the QSO can not hear it as I have checked that out
Will it lock to the K3EXREF (when it is available)? Also, is there any update
on when the K3EXREF will be available?

Speaking of band edges
During the recent ARRL DX SSB contest, there was a station operating on
7127. Because of the lower SB extending to 7124 (assuming 3k bandwidth) he
was operating out of the US phone band. He was a European but he was working
simplex. I bet there was an OO sitting there
This was an excellent explanation.
I got a Trimble Thunderbolt off eBay for less than 200 bucks. It came from
China and came with an antenna and power supply. If you are going to get one
of the ones that come from China, make sure you get the power supply with
it. The domestic Thunderbolts have
Ah, tailwheel. I did my first tailwheel training in a 7KCAB. Fun airplane.
Get tired of flying right side up, turn it over and fly it upside down, but
not over 2 minutes (I was taught not to fly inverted more than 1 minute and
keep your eye on the oil pressure).
Oh well, I digress. One importan
Doug,
I couldn't have said it better myself. QRP is good, signing "/QRP" waists
information bandwidth.
Also when it ends up either in or not in my log and the Qs are uploaded to
eQSL, the callsigns don't match and I have to manually generate a QSL (which
I do gladly). It does have to be manual
Don't get me wrong on this one. I'm primarily a contester. I TRY to run
rather than do S & P. When I'm running and there's a station calling me that
I'm pulling out of noise on my run frequency and they're signing XXnXXX/QRP
at 15 WPM, chances are there will be several stations calling QRL? on m
What I just don't understand is why QRP operators have to sign "/QRP" after
their callsigns when in a contest. It takes longer and the guy on the other
end has to copy not only their call (often QRP stations are weak anyway),
but the "/QRP" as well. I too am astonished when I work some EU statio
