a K3 or KX2...any macro for my KX3 must look like below (everything
after KY and before ;} is what you can alter, up to 24 characters including

"It all depends" is/was the premise for my reply, Don.
If new and old hams don't understand the potential problems with long runs
of coax to/from an antenna they want to operate on multiple bands and an ATU
in the shack they will be surprised at how inefficient their system is.

Instead of spending oodles of bucks for a 3rd party heat sink (for the few
times I key up the KX3 a lot over short periods of time, e.g., CQ 160 CW
contest, JT9/JT65 modes) I was thinkin' of utilizing a small fan, mounted in
some fashion, to provide some extra cooling..anyone done that?

Gary - depends on your antenna and how you feed it.
If you intend to feed a multi-band antenna with open wire line, you'll need
some sort of tuner at the point where you transition from open wire to coax:
- if you plan on doing that out near the base of your antenna (the most
efficient spot)

Hey, guess what I found out.I saw the same thing while operating JT9/65.
BUT, every time I rotated the pwr control knob, the ALC was exactly where I
had adjusted it to, SO, I experimented a little and varied
the pwr out prior to transmitting.guess what The power level
meant to type, "...looks to me like the set power when you start
transmitting in JY9/65 and, if you touch the pwr control knob after you
start transmitting, the KX3 switches into a "display your ALC
setting.just sayin'
