I run Winmor on my K3 & KX3 and find it very frustrating that Winmor resets the
mode back to SSB with each automatic frequency change. I need the mode to be
set to DATA A so that the compression & Equalizers are disabled, ALC is
optimized, and for the K3 the rear panel connectors are enabled. Ar
An up converter from 10kHz to 500kHz with typical Elecraft quality would be

the boys in Aptos, so would gladly purchase & build their kit.

I use RMS Express with my K3 & KX3 and wonder if I am the only one that has a

Every time RMS Express changes the radios frequency it also changes the mode to
USB.
I have to then change it to DATA so the TX & RX equalizers are centered, PTT is
selected, levels are properly set and on th
It has been 30+ years since I owned & used a bug but I would give it a go if it

I find diversity reception useful on 20 Meters when operating on the Alaska
Pacific net. One antenna is a Beam pointed toward Alaska. The diversity antenna
is a Vertical. With this arrangement I get the nulls in the beam pattern filled
in with the vertical and can hear operators off the side and
I would like to see this built into the P3 as an option. If it switched both

I found at Field Day I needed the front panel illuminated as well as my
clipboard. I have rigged a small LED on a 6" goose neck attached to the power
plug. Works well enough that I can turn off the KX3's internal backlight making
the total power load unchanged.

Tuning noise is now absent without even an antenna or VFO NR on all but 10

Have used metal as a ground plane & it worked great. Metal sections must be

Just be careful with the heat gun or hair dryer. The clear front panel can be

I have been using my KX3 mobile for the last 2 months. RX is as good or better

I use my KX3 with an isolating (transformer) attenuating cord @ 5 watts with a
