[Elecraft] Power spike early K3

2023-05-20 Thread Mikael Larsmark
Hi, We have an early serial K3 which has got an issue with power spikes. I have done a TX gain calibration without it making a difference. The spike happens mainly when you have changed to a new band and during the first transmission. After that the spike is a lot smaller and not much of an

[Elecraft] Excessive RF input damaged RX/TX

2023-02-07 Thread Mikael Larsmark
Hi, I posted earlier that I had accidentally gotten too much RF input into one of the K3's at the station during a contest, when an operator switched the radio to 30m where there is no BPF. D25 had broken, so I changed that and all bands except 30m work just fine. 40m has got problems sometimes

[Elecraft] Power spike

2023-01-19 Thread Mikael Larsmark
Hi, I have 5 pcs Elecraft K3 in my shack and one of them, which is a very early model (serial #1938) suffers from quite a power spike when transmitting. You can clearly notice it on the amplifier and it is only this K3, none of the others. Can somebody give me some insight on this? /Mike, SJ2W

up barely switching any thus just generating noise instead. By adjusting it so it switches properly the problem went away. 73 de Mike, SM2WMV (SJ2W) http://www.sj2w.se/contest/ On 8 November 2019 at 23:26:32 +01:00, Mikael Larsmark wrote: > Hi again, > > I tried the factory settings a

[Elecraft] 160m noise

2019-11-08 Thread Mikael Larsmark
Hi, I am having an issue which confuses me quite a bit. When I unplug my antennas and listen to 80m for example I have very low noise and the S-meter does not light up a single bar. When I go to 160m and do the same thing I have S3-S4 and I can hear a much higher noise level. It is the same
