Can you confirm the West Mountain ComSpeaker is
#58410-950?
Since I’m a new K3S owner and still learning the radio, can you also confirm
that those speakers can be hooked up while keeping the headphones plugged
into the rear jack?
I’m sure there must be a Config menu change also.
Thanks,
Mike

Let me first say that I am new to using a panadapterHowever, it has
worked fine since I got it a month ago. But now it doesn't seem to reflect
what I am hearing on the K3S (which I got at the same time).
I am listening to an S9+ CW signal on 80m but do not see the signal on the
P3. I
I'm considering trying the CW Reader available in N1MM+ Logger, even though
the K3S has that functionality. My laptop is currently connected to the USB
port on the rig. According to the K3S manual, that should handle all the
necessary communications between the laptop and the rig (I think).
Brett, I am new to the K3S. I set mine according to the Fred Cady book.
Mine are slightly different from yours. But I don't have a good
understanding of how the settings affect the performance. Sometimes I think
the rig is very noisy, even when connected to a dummy load.

Got it! Thanks, Dick!

If I understand it correctly, as you turn the bandwidth knob

Wow. Thanks for all the replies!
There are some options that I don't care about, like the extended receive
range. I would like the I/O board, DVR, 100w, ATU.
Not sure about the transverter but if I find a K3 that has it, fine. Is the
main reason for getting the transverter option is so you

I am considering buying a K3S, waiting to hear from Elecraft if they are

I've seen on the website a couple references to something called "K3
Utility". I can't find anything that actually explains what it is but I
think it has something to do with installing firmware upgrades.

I belong to three other reflectors on groups.io and they all have a link at
the bottom of the original post to stop receiving more replies to the topic.
It’s called
“Mute This Topic”.
Is there a way to add this to elecraft posts?

The KAT100 manual says that the tuner’s settings are stored in EEPROM.
My question is - how many memories are stored? Is it just one for each
band?

In order to put the MFJ-993B automatic antenna tuner into TUNE mode from the
radio, an interface cable is required.
MFJ has cables for the major radio brands. I’m not sure if it’s even
possible for the K2 since I’m already using the RS-232 port to interface
with the laptop.

I was able to finish my KPA100 a few days ago, just in time for Field Day.
The amp worked flawlessly! No error messages, over heating, etc. made 451
contacts on CW and phone with no bad reports.
I am extremely pleased and wish to thank the Elecraft team for developing
such a great kit!

I've just been informed by Elecraft that the KAT100-1 antenna tuner is no
longer available.
I ordered both the tuner and the KPA-100 amplifier but, of course, the
amplifier does me no good without the tuner.
I realize that I can probably find another tuner but hey, the KAT100 is the

I’m looking to buy the KAT100-1 antenna tuner for the K2. I believe the -1
model is the slim model that the K2 can sit on top of. I don’t want the -2
model which I think is the enclosure that is the same size as the K2.
Elecraft has the tuner on back order for 2 weeks AFTER Covid-19 restrictions
I built K2 #4619 some years ago. Now I am considering adding the KPA 100
amplifier. When I bought and built the K2, I also built and installed the
following option3:
KAT2 automatic antenna tuner
KSB2 SSB adapter
KDSP2 DSP filter and internal clock
KIO2 AUX I/O module
KNB2 noise blanker
K160RX
I thought that I could have VFO A & B on different bands. Is that wrong?
