The KAT500 has three antenna out ports. It only needs one In so the KPA500
needs only one out port.
As for the 10 W in and 500 out idea. That is prohibited by law. They’re only

The RF GAIN Calibration is done with the transmitter and a “Dummy” load. No

Before plugging in the mic from Menu set mic buttons to OFF. See the manual
about this. Also be sure Bias is OFF.
You will need to tap the Transmit button to speak and again to stop.

Guys. The KAT4 is installed inside the K4 transceiver. It could not be used
with an external amplifier. The matching unit for the KPA500 must go between

For station use at home I could get by without. But my radios are used for many
club/portable events and antennas are often not optimal. So a ATU is helpful.

The KAT3(a) can tune many a strange antenna.
It seems so easy to hook up the antenna and tap the button to see if it works
instead of typing a query here and getting many responses. A lot of which will

When in the Data mode you are using, press the SPOT/Pitch button (lower-left of
the keypad) and hold. It should show the Mark freq. adjust to suit.

Add a tad of De-Oxit(sp) and you may be done! Careful, a little goes a long
way.
ps: after applying the cleaner/lib, work the contacts in and out a few times to
