I use a 12v power cube plugged into a Network Power Switch.This is how I turn
my 6500 on remotely also.
Its a 4 outlet internet switch, so I use it turn apply 12v to the REMOTE jack
and turn on the KPA-1500.

Now the question is, is it possible to control the amp remotely WITHOUT having
a dedicated PC running ?
VPN, different port forwarding . some other configuration ?
Or is it just not possible the way the software is written and
I also cannot get the KPA1500 Remote to function over the internet (WAN)
I even put it into a DMZ with no luck.

Does anyone have any directions on how this is to be setup ?

Well, I saw the email Thursday night about the Important firmware update for the
kpa1500 v2.0
So I applied it after updating the utility program first when I got home from
work on Friday.
Going well, till it failed and then hung.
Yes - I freaked out, I know what bad things happen when firmware
