Hi Simon
I use K3 with K144XV and K144RFLK with an external 10MHZ GPS locked signal
adn have done so for 9 months or so now.
I have never seen this characteristic you describe. I can leave it on
GB3VHF beacon using JT65 / WSJT and it stays rock steady at 3Hz discrepancy
all day long. I have never
Hi All
I was monitoring 144.370 today on the K3 with K144XV module installed when I
heard a SSB sideband signal at about S2. Also connected to the rig was a
Butternut HF6V for HF.
The signal turned out to be a strong station on 28.370 - the IF frequency.
Anyone else noticed breakthrough to 144 from
*FOUND THE PROBLEM.*During factory build the coax cable to the IF Out board
from the main board has been trapped between the edge of the IF Out PCB and
the metal side panel.. the gap is sufficiently small that it has crushed
the coax and shorted it out...
Ho hum.
I think it has happened bec
I can find an output from the K3 with the R20 at about 8.580. If I set a user
if to that and plug the P3 in then I get a display with a couple of peaks at
-105db . However, it is not the main IF output as you can tune off it and
nothing else is visible.
The P3 will show the random noise floor at -1
I also have had a back BNC lead but sorted this.
If I connect my IC-R20 to the IF Out, tune to 8.8Mhz I hear nothing at
all...

OK- thanks for all the input on this on and off this forum.
Some are saying that it may be a loose/missing cable.
I have the 2M module in. Does this not modify the routing as there is an IF
in and out on the module?
I cannot get to the back of the IF out board without a serious amount of

Ok - here's one
New P3. K3 1 month old. Both factory built with internal 2m module, KXV3A
etc.
I have no IF display at all on the P3 on any band at any scale level.
Tried rescaling, everything on P3. I have changed IF lead.
If I put a freq counter on the IF out socket from the K3 I get nothing
I have noticed that if I turn my P3 off the RS232 out link to the PC also
stops.
Is this correct?

Thanks Bruce.
The sequencer is an SSB DCW2004 B. It does not seem to have a state-change
output from rx to tx. It has inputs to earth or high to trigger the sequence
and then delay outputs to sequence the devices.
So I am note sure that would work..

Ok Roger - thanks for the input.
TX-DLY is an option I suppose but that means the sequencer will not be
sequencing in the right order. ( I dont know if that is an issue or not).
The sequencer has to switch the LNA first then switches the PA and K3 over
together to tx. TXDLY. If I use TXD then they
so that on 2m you can only instigate TX via
the back panel PTT in line?
Help appreciated!

Yes - thank you guys.
The factory offsets for the tvtr unit seem to have been set for the 146 band
not 144. Now corrected this in Config and we are all OK.
