A little help, please.
I am using a MacBook Pro for shack computer. I am getting the K3 and KPA 500
firmware updates with no problem using this computer.
However, the KAT 500 tuner will not recognize the MAC for the initial utility
download. I am using the SerialPort 2 for K3 firmware
Has anyone attempted to mate the Kenwood 590 with the KPA 500? The KPA's
owner's manual under cabling on page 7, suggests a RS232 9-pin cable will
successfully connect the two units, but does not specifically state that the
RS232 is carrying ALC from the Ts 590 to the KPA 500. I have used

What I have is a basic K2 with KAT2 internal tuner (KSB2 and KBT2 are also
installed). Then I also have the KPA100 outboard in a EC2 with the
KAT100-2.

Somewhat off topic (I have built a K2/100, which works great!-) but I'm
sure that this group will know the answer.
Question: How do you go about detecting common mode current on the outside
braid of your co-axial cable and then measuring or quantifying the amount
thereof?
