What's the general time it's taking Elecraft support to reply to e-mail
queries?
Obviously, this has been a crap year, and normal expectations don't apply.

I am simplifying the station, and unwinding
the SO2R functionality which I thought I'd enjoy. Turns out, I'm just
not interested (or maybe smart enough?) for that category.

I had a Samsung SyncMaster 24 which was very susceptible to RFI on
80M. It would turn off whenever I transmitted. The antenna is an
inverted Vee, less than 1 wavelength from the monitor. I was able to
stop this problem by wrapping 6 turns of the AC power cable around a
big clamp on ferrite.
Hi Tom -
Thanks for your thoughts. I've renamed the Subject line to split
this response from the rest of the TRANSLATION thread.

Dayton 2007 was in May, correct? Presumably, Elecraft got a boatload
of orders. I'll guess (because we haven't been informed) that we'll
hit another big lump of orders that they'll be working to satisfy.
Also, I see they'll be at the Orlando Hamcation this February (8-10),

Hi Tom -
Someone can be a believer, or not, and whether you care or not is up to you.
However, at the risk of being accused (again) of being on my high
horse, we all share a obligation to guide behavior towards something
acceptable to our society. Don't you agree? You see someone

Wow. Well...ummm...okay...here goes...
I *THOUGHT* I've made my reasons ridiculously clear, SEVERAL times: I
would like timely, accurate reporting of the K3's status from Elecraft.
That's it!
I don't think that's too much to askdo you?

Hi John -
Actually (and this may be a shock to The Believers) you might be surprised to
know that there seems to be a rather LARGE group of people who agree with me,
not only for the TRANSLATION e-mail, but also the OPEN LETTER e-mail which
I sent last month. They say so, enthusiastically, in
For fun, I thought I'd provide an East Coast translation of this
recent announcement from Elecraft.
Enjoy!

Paint removal is now performed virtually, within the DSP.
After all, it's only software, and thus, is easy to accomplish.

Regarding the discussion of the display on the K3, not that anybody
asked, but I'm solidly in the I want a larger radio and display camp.
Perhaps you could design an interface for the K3 that would let
someone hook it up to a 22 inch LCD monitor.
Why stop at a 22 monitor? What about

I know the Yeah, but you can take the K3 portable argument, and
that's all well and good, but I don't tend to schlepp my rigs around.

Let's use a bit of logic here: It's not possible to pass judgement on
the future resale value of low SN units, except in retrospect. Who
knows what the future will bring? Perhaps, for whatever reason,
there will be hardware revisions which make the K3 mark II, mark III,
