Rcvd # 77 today.My only problem is that when I turn the KX3 on the Amp
does not come on. I set PA in menu to on. If I turn it on manually with the
switch it works ok. I turned the Amp on in the menu. I have down loaded
latest firmware for the KX3 and the AMP. Am I missing some other setting?

I worked at Speer Carbon Company back then. We made those carbon/graphite
plates for the 813's, 811's and several other tubes. We wore white gloves
while handling the material. If oil from our hands got on those parts they

I used Vibroplex for about 40 years. I took 3" of 1/4" copper tubing and
replaced weights with it.. Crimped it on. Then I wound large solder on a
alligator clip. This could really slow down the dits. But I cud also send very

Back in the 50's I knew a ham who always bought the latest ham rig. He

I bought a Vibroplex original model from another ham who did not like it.
It was 1953 and I was a novice. I did not like it either. So I ground down
the width of the spring. Then used 4 inches of copper tubing over the end

Built and installed the 160 kit in my K2 (6911) today. After alignment it
works good on all bands transmitting on CW. But on all bands receiving cw
the cw tone is distorted! What could I have done? I removed the K160RX and cw

Before supper was working. Left on and went to supper. Came back from
supper and no display but power is on. No sig heard. Turn power switch off.

Ref control board caps. I have one cap left over 103. I see on board a
place marked C44. But instructions say nothing about this part? What's the

I do not have a KX1 but I have used the Buddipole with many small qrp rigs
( SW40, Sw30, SW20 and others) and it works very well. 72 Geo?W2BPI
Does anyone have any experience using a BuddiPole antenna with their
KX1. Any words of wisdom you can offer a CW & KX1 newbie would be
appreciate

I just recently built a K1 serial # 2821. Very nice rig. I have noticed
that when I am working a station with a very strong sig that when I stop
sending and he starts to send that his first character is very loud. I tried
changing C31 to 1uf as suggested elsewhere. It is an improvement. I won
I just ordered a K1-4 to build after the first of the year. I wanted to
build it for 80-40-30-20. But there is not a 80 meter option listed. I really
do not want to mess with using 2 boards. Is there a way for me to add 80
