Do you have the right mic selected? If so does the mic your using required a
bias to work correctly?

Winwarbler is part
I have been using the combo for over a year with no problems. I use the default
settings and just connect the amp out, no ALC. Works great full QSK.

Have you tried just shifting the signal to a lower freq. (rotating the shift
knob counter clockwise). That seems to make it sound very good to me.

Yes, you can even plug it into the back of the rig and not even need an

Hi Mike,
Yes, I have contributed to that thread. The thread I started had two purposes.
One to let Lyle know I think the problem is worse in DSP version 198 and two,
to illustrate a possible work around for those who would like to work the
Roundup this weekend.

Wayne,
See my other posts on this. I don't believe you have to have text decode on to
experience this problem. I have had dialog with Lyle for sometime on this
problem.

I am experiencing the same issue and have been for a while. It occurs for me
without being in the text mode. Lyle says he is aware of it and is working on a
solution. I think it has gotten worse in recent releases. I tried this morning
turning the drive down to two or less bars, which used to
Yes that's exactly what I observed here. Glad your looking at it.

I wonder if someone from Elecraft might step in here with a comment on what
their position is regarding 6 mtr sensitivity. Here, I am able to hear a beacon
that is about 25 miles from my QTH with a very minimum of an antenna. I am
waiting for a 6 mtr opening to see if I can make any contacts

Besides considering how nice it sounds we need to be considering how wide our
signals are on the band.Rielly (sp) of FCC fame has warned the ham community
about being careful with the width of our signals when we are trying to
transmit Hifi sounding transmissions.Plus it's just the neighborly
You can still use the amp by manually activating the transmit switch on both
pieces of gear. I do this with one old rig I have. Not the nicest solution but
it will work By the way I have the QSK add on switch and it works real nice
for QSK CW
