Huge thanks to the many who have offered advice on the subject of my K2
intentions- all very useful and am just printing out the hard copies of all
the e-mails so I can reread and think about it (always did prefer hard
copy!!)
I really appreciate all the responses so many thanks; you have
Advice and opinions sought please
Am a CW only operator with retro tendencies! I enjoy QRP but also the
flexibility to QRO to 50 watts (maximum allowed for the intermediate
licence)
Have used a KX3 since 2016 and added a KXPA 100 +ATU last year
Am really tempted to get a K2 to use
Have had this working fine for a year until 2 months ago KX3 connected
briefly to the KXPA100 and then cut out.
The SYS LED light showed on the KXPA100
Have replaced PSU believing it to be a fault here.
Have sent KXPA100 to Waters and Stanton (UK) for inspection and returned
with clean bill of
Just to copy you in to an enquiry sent to Waters and Stanton in the UK
I intend to buy the K2/100 kit but need to be sure about precisely what I
need for CW only use
Any advice welcome - and needed1

Just a query about the use of the MFJ 971 portable tuner with my KX3 (fitted
with automatic ATU)
The twin feeder from the doublet goes into the back of the MFJ which is then
attached via coax patch lead to the KX3
I can bypass the Auto ATU fitted on the KX3 menu and manually tune the MFJ
(not sure if this is the same as using the KX3 users group but here goes)
Would appreciate advice on the use of the* notch filter* on my KX3
It is fitted with* KX3FL3* roofing filters. I only use CW
Once I have spotted a weak signal I can use these to narrow down and
filter out unwanted noise
