Dave,
Listening 6 kHz wide is fine if you listen up to 3 kHz UP AND DOWN your
frequency. (So you might have a station on zero beat freq, who cares)
Being an ex R/O used to listening on 500 kHz, this was normal operation.

Why do you want a 6kHz bandwidth in CW? Mos

Oh yes...I want to hear as much bandwidth as possible partly because it's my
temporary cure for no bandscop

Not just cw Steve - ssb rx bandwidth adjustment is currently restricted to
4Khz max.
It's likely that these bandwidth restrictions will be opened up in future
firmware (really).
tches included!
I see no reason for Elecraft to have deliberately restricted the bandwidth
in CW mode only.

Right now, I believe that the firmware does not allow the CW bandwidth
to exceed 2.8 KHz in RX. This may be changed in future firmware upgrades.

I have the 6 khz filter in slot #1 but in cw mode it skips to slot #2

If so, why? I want to hear more BW in CW mode and don't want to be switching
to LSB just to listen.
Also, is there any reason why I should not choose
