One more item to add to Don's excellent comment. As someone who prefers to build equipment rather than get it preassembled, the K2 is available as a you-build-it kit. The K3 and KX3 are only available as you-assemble-it kits. I spent a year and a half dithering between the K2 and the K3 thinki

Im no contester or DXer, but generally the KX3 seems to pull signals out of the noise with narrowing filter width better than the several k2 units Ive used. The noise also seems less harsh. I havent found the APF to my liking, it seems to ring too much compared to just narrowing down the passband.

I have both but did not make A/B comparisons. K2's filters are not too sharp but they pick up weak signals very well. But may be overwhelmed by strong signals nearby. K2 has excellent AGC. KX3 has much steeper filters and even APF. Also continuously adjusted. So probably KX3 would do much better

Hi All, I am not a contester. I enjoy digging faint signals out of the noise. I'm wondering what your experience with the KX3 is compared to the K3 and K2 in that regard. If there is a significant improvement in capturing weak signals over the K2, I might put the KX3 on my Christmas wish list. :)
