As Debian is making access to backports easier in the near future, I asked to Kamal to look into providing a backport of the current Hamlib release to Squeeze. He agreed it would be a good idea and will look into it as time permits. There is no ETA for the moment, but I will follow up when I hear

I checked the version of Hamlib available with the Sqeeze flavor of Debian. It is 1.2.11-1 and so considerably out of date vs the current version of 1.2.15-3. I'll wait a bit to see if a later version gets uploaded to Debian - otherwise, I'll face the music and try to compile it locally from sour
