Gary,
If I were you I'd call Elecraft support before sending the board. They may
give you some tests to make to determine if you have the same problem as
Dave.

Hey Barry,
If you are so inclined, you might try re-seating the LPA board. I did read a
couple of instances where that cleared up the problem. Although, it did not
clear mine up :-(
Either way, it you wouldn't mind, please post back y

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the info. It looks like mine will be heading back to the factory
also.
Have a great day.

BTW - some of the obvious things to check first would be to insure you
aren't in test mode or that the TX INH pin is not set or floating (check
in the Config menu).

Barry,
I had the same thing here a few weeks ago. I found that I had no output
from my LPA board. It is now at Elecraft being serviced but I have yet
to hear the final resolution. It has only been in service for a week or so.
I used a scope and did some signal tracing and found that I had RF on
When I hit the ATU TUNE button this evening the tuner sounded like it was
doing something but instead of the usual display of VSWR as it tuned there
were only two dash lines.
The problem is not band dependent.
Anyone ever seen this before and if so what was the cure?
Thanks.

My K3 is only 4 days old so I am still becoming familiar with it and the
controls and I still have a big smile on my face!
It is 100W unit with KAT3. I occasionally get HI SWR readings and have
noted the following effects.
10W into 50 ohm load display shows 1.6:1 ATU bypassed, with the ATU tuned

Thanks to K3IU, Fred & Roger. Exactly what I wanted to know.

Double check that you somehow didn't manage to get ANT2 set as the
default antenna selection for those bands... if so, you're probably
tuning into NO ANTENNA...!

Hi,
Just getting K3 going and KAT3 does not tune properly on 7 and 24 MHz.
I'm pretty sure it worked earlier today on a 40 m dipole I put up but
now it doesn't tune the dipole or a dummy load. When trying to tune the
dummy load and checking the L & C I get Ca = Ct=0.66 nF and L=0.75 uH
and 2.5:1 SW

I think that is by design that it tunes at 5 watts to get a good matchso it
can take the 100 watts into a properly tuned match. I think the tuner would
have an issue at 100 watts at 4:1. But it doesn't have an issue a 5 watts.
If you go to XMIT.after you run the tunerth
It may be something I'm missing but I am unable to get
more than 5 watts out in either ATU or Bypass with my
KAT3 installed.
It seems like it tunes and switches properly, just
can't get 100W.
Any help?
Thanks,
Julius
