[Elecraft] KX-1 and Zero-beat Tuning Indicator?

Just curious if anyone who has installed the K6XX SMD zero-beat board in their KX-1 has noted or even noticed how much it reduces the battery life? It would seem to me that if it is flashing all the time as you tune around and QSO that it would have a significant effect... I haven't installed
