Ah, the dreaded error 12029. Now I get it. I suspended my virus protection
and the K3 utility connected to the Elecraft server and loaded the latest

The K3 Utility finds the highest version of each firmware file in the
folder. If the mist recent rev is problematic, remove it or rename it
perhaps by changing it's extension. I don't provide any help in
matching MCU to DSP revisions tho.

to test I delete the 8 extracted files from the last zip and extract the
contents from the latest zip. That way there is little chance of

a prior version of the firmware from that one folder? If so, how is
that specified?

The K3 Utility does not discard old revisions of firmware. It leaves
them in place. But it does use only rhe latest revision found in the
firmware folder.
You shouldn't really need a new folder every time unless you prefer
to. Nothing is overwritten except the firmware release notes and the
Wayne posted a request for beta testers on March 6. I was one of the
voluteers and didn't find any problems.

The latest version of the utility will create the directory. Just type
it in.

Don, I guess there was no Beta of 3.79. Many of us have gotten use to
downloading the Beta releases and so this threw us off. It wasn't
