It may not be as subject to solar flares, or as variable, but it
definitely propagates.
Most don't notice because when one path is down others are open.

killed HF propagation a few hours ago.
Having spent too much of my life waiting out hurricanes in south Florida (some
of it involving emergency comm), I agree it is very much not a fun time.
