it is something that has been gradually failing and got worse about the
time you loaded the new firmware.

Since I upgraded the software on my K3 last time, I would get PTT-ERR messages
when using FSK/RTTY every now and then.
Now it seems to be happening during a RTTY transmission. I know there were
some changes in the K3 software but I can't figure out how fix this issue.

My k3 (427) goes into the transmit state when I connect the cable from the Kpa
500 . This has never happend before .
I have downloaded recent firmware for k3/kpa500/ ,disconnected p3 ,to try and

PTT Err will be present if the K3 detects a closure on the PTT in, the
key, paddles, or microphone as well as from the RS-232 lines.
Are you using the Keying cable from the K3 to KPA500 in addition to the
K3 to KPA500 ACC cable? If so, you must either use one or the other OR
