I had the same problem; could only get 3.7 v with R1 cranked all the way to
the stop. My 8v regulator put out 7.9 v. At the suggestion of one of the
older hands, I calculated the voltage divider and confirming that 3.7v was
about as high as I was going to get with that regulator voltage output
Hi All,
I'm Sarah, AF6FH! I just got my license a couple weeks ago, and I'm
now assembling K2# 0622, which will be my first HF radio. I started
assembly on Wednesday night, and so far, everything's been going just
fine.
Just to clarify, that should be K2 #06322... and it took me *three*

Mike,
Great to hear that you are all set and that the work is progressing - and
you are very welcome.
About the problem. Your K2 and mine wanted a higher voltage at U2 pin 5 than
the "normal" to prevent the AGC working on the receiver's own internal
noise. The AGC Threshold was too low and could
Geoff, I think I'm all set for now, and the work is progressing nicely. I
would be interested in hearing Elecrafts thoughts on the AGC circuit, and
what you thought the problem was. Thanks again for the help.
