Wow, Pat. Thanks for the great info on triggering the KDVR3 from WriteLog.
I've used WriteLog since 2003 FD so it's hard to switch to a new logger. Now
I don't have to.

Thanks Ian, I hadn't spotted the RX; command but it is exactly what I needed.
I have changed my ESC key macro from SWT37; to RX;.
I am also trying to use both memory banks with a command like
SWH37;SWT21;SWH37; i.e. REC(hold) => M1 => REC(hold)
My hope was to switch to bank 2 send the message a
Fred,
I'm not sure when this feature was added but you can send commands to the
radio with the message function keys. Open the CW/RTTY/SSB Memory Setup
window and select the Help button. The radio commands are sent when you use
%GAxx in the message. The xx refers to a command number you define in
The problem with using the REC button is that you may accidentally hit
that key when playback is not in progress, and get yourself all "out
of sync". You should be able to to program one of the F-keys with
something like:
{CATA1ASC RX;}{CATA2ASC RX;}
and that should stop DVR playback.
73,
Pat, you referred to using WriteLog to control the KDVR3. I was not aware
that capability was incorporated yet in WriteLog. Can you please provide
details on how this is done? My present version of WriteLog is 10.86C. 73,

Hi Pat,
Wound up using the same trick... Evidently N1MM use to be able to do it with
the ESC key, but somewhere along the line the code was changed. I really need
to get a new soundcard, so I can have "robo-voice" hihi
Hope you're doing well up there in the North. Seems like a lot of snow aroun
Hi Julius,
I just started using the DVR3 here but I found a way to stop the message. I
use WriteLog and programmed one of the function keys to activate the K3's
REC button. This is the same thing you would do if running the messages from
the K3 front panel. It's not the ESC key I am accustomed to
Unfortunately they changed N1MM Logger such that it no longer
generates an "RX;" command when Escape is pressed, even when "PTT via
radio command" is enabled. You can program one of the F-keys to send
the "RX;" command instead at least for now - hopefully we can come
up with a solution to make
Hi Olli,
Both of your methods work, thanks...
Still am unable to get the ESC key to stop a message, even after trying
different settings, but placing a "-" on a function key seems to do the
trick.

OK, used my DVK for the first time, pretty simple to record and use BUT, I
couldn't figure out how to stop a message. This may not be possible.
I use N1MM and ESC has been effective with recordings on the computer, but
doesn't stop the DVK. I didn't notice anything in the instructions about a
