I think it's more appropriate to compare the prices of US-manufactured
products like Ten-Tec and MFJ. Both UK and US dealers buy Japanese products
direct from Japan, where the strong pound and weak dollar vs the yen give
us a relatively better deal.

As a Japanese Elecraft fan,
I do hope Elecraft to reconsider way of selling K3 to JA.
As UK friends pointed out, the Japanese reseller price
becomes almost in double.
In case of KX1,K1 or K2, the Japanese reseller still
has some merit for instance they can provide technical
support or repairi
Elecraft repled to me via email very quickly and said that even if
dealers are found within Europe one will always be able to buy direct
from Elecraft. I was totally happy with their answer. They CCd it to
the email list but it hasn't appeared on here yet.

I have just read this and it has put the wind up me !
I am on the verge of ordering a K3 ... however if one of these
"Exclusive dealer contracts" is put in place I will have to
seriously reconsider.
